Supplying the need of the Emergency Food Cupboard
The Emergency Food Cupboard is stocked with food from a variety of places.
A lot of our food comes from Foodlink, which delivers staples and produce each week. We also can go to Foodlink and "shop" with grant money that we have received.
Food also comes from donations from food drives, donations to the United Way Donor option 1620, and from food we purchase ourselves with the grant money we receive.
We are the recipient of a great deal of staples from the Postal Workers' food drive in June and the Boy Scouts' Scouting for Food drive each March.
In 2012, we received a grant from Foodlink to start a community garden. Produce from the project helped to supply healthy food for our food cupboard clients.
