Home About Us Parish Life Calendar

We affirm our call by Jesus Christ to share the Gospel and be instruments of compassion, social justice and systemic change.

Star Group Ministry

Residents of Loden Lane Group Home in Henrietta have become an integral part of our church community. A bimonthly gathering for Star Group members provide an opportunity for the Star Group to socialize in the homes of other parishioners.

More Light Ministry

CSA partners with other More Light Congregations to work for the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, and transgendered people in the life of the Presbyterian Church. The present status of excluding gay and lesbian people from ordination is not in concert with our vision of who Christ calls us to be as a community of faith.   We support the Interfaith Advocates of Rochester.

Work Camps

Throughout the year CSA hosts 2-4 work camps for special projects. In April 2004, CSA created additional space for the Food Ministry. Walls were scrapped, floors painted, old dirt and debris removed for the expansion of the Food Ministry. 15 youth and 3 adults also raked the playground of the Calvary St. Andrew’s Preschool and Family Center. In 2003, Averill Avenue was given a face and spiriCouple Prayingt lift.

Adopt-A-Block

The City of Rochester awarded CSA the Adopt-A-Block Program. CSA administered the Adopt A Block contract with the city. Three major thoroughfares were covered: Mt. Hope Avenue, South Avenue and South Clinton Street, as well as Gregory Street. Jim Pardee and Janet Craig led the staff who did a terrific job of cleaning the streets. CSA participated with the Averill Block group in planting flowers along the street, and we sponsored a May workday. An Earth Day service focused our hearts on giving God thanks for the earth and all that is within it.
